The galleries below have been compiled to provide a resource to all those with an interest in building science (or pathology). Often I am contacted by people who have found a bit of fungal growth or an insect. Sometimes a water stain appears on a wall, or a split or flight hole is found in an historic timber. All of these have a potential to precipitate various degrees of panic.
Hopefully it will be possible for concerned parties to find something similar in the photographs below, which can then be used as a starting point for further consideration – or simply to put ones mind at rest.
