This building, one of the very few remaining of its type, has been neglected for some considerable time and is high on Historic England’s Buildings at Risk Register.
The building is now full of scaffolding, but this picture taken by Exploration Central, shows the intention of the original design – with overhanging balcony. More images can be seen at their website Exploration Central
One of the significant aspects of this building is that it used glulam arched braces in the trusses. The glulam has survived better than the larger section timber elements – although it has been shielded from the worst affects of the weather by the principle rafters.
